Drag Finisher Tooling Fixtures

One of the most important aspects of cutting tool edge-prep and polishing in the drag finishing process is using the proper tooling fixtures to hold the tools to be processed. Certain factors, such as angle of presentation into the process media, direction of tools during the process, number of tools, and the geometry of those tools play an important role in the overall desired results. Bel Air can provide custom holders and collets to fit your particular application.

Tool Holders 3rd Axis, Free Wheeling

Free-wheeling angular tool holders are the simplest and most economical version for use with symmetrical cutting tools. The units include sealed bearings, as well as an additional seal, to ensure maximum wear and life. Bel Air can provide assembled replacement sections, or standard off-the-shelf bearings can be replaced easily, making maintenance a quick & easy process. These holders can accept any of Bel Air's standard line of chucks and collets.

Tool Collets - Standard

Our standard collets are for use with the free-wheeling tool holders. The tool is held in place by a simple hex-head screw against the tool shank. The collet is fastened to the tool by a button head screw through the bearing inner race. Brass sleeves are available, in increments, to minimize the number of collets required.
